The underground stand-up appeared not so long ago, but it is already actively gaining momentum, acquiring its own fans, touring actively and entertaining the audience with jokes in its strict style.
You don't need much to perform, just a microphone, a chair and the stand-up comedian itself. No decorations or special musical accompaniment required. The audience is not conquered with tinsel, but with well-aimed jokes that hit the target! The genre itself is borrowed from Western comedians. Young guys from Ukraine took a great interest in world famous stand-up comedians and decided that this kind of presentation of their jokes is very acceptable to them. Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappell, Louis C. Kay, George Carlin are world famous comedians who work in stand-up shows. Such big names prove that there is someone to look up to.

Svyat Zagaykevich stands at the very origins of the Underground Stand-Up. In 2012, the comedian made his first appearance on the stage, presenting stand-up as one of the directions of the humorous genre. Speaking at the TV show "Stand-Up Show on the New Channel" in 2014, Svyat felt that all the same on television they constantly put some kind of restrictions on the themes of jokes, adjust to the script and format of the channel. And all this is not for him! And as it turns out, many comedians share those feelings. In the Underground Stand-Up, an artist can joke about anything, as he pleases, using a strong word, revealing his soul to the viewer without flattery and embellishment, just to please. So the Underground stand-up was born, uniting like-minded people under one roof. And in the summer of 2015, a project was created in which comedians were revealed to the viewer without censorship, without restrictions. This is not to say that the public rushed straight to them, no. These were at first apartment houses, where the audience gathered as much as comedians. Performances took place in spaces such as roofs, garages, apartments. But things went up, rumors began to circulate about the guys, and now their performances are hunted to enjoy the evening of a select stand-up. The underground stand-up began to perform on the stages of nightclubs, pubs, anti-cafes, expanding its audience and making itself public.

Underground stand-up comedians differ from each other both in popularity and in the way they perform, each with their own character, their own style of presenting material and communicating with the public. Every artist offstage is also doing his main job. For example, Svyat Zagaykevich himself is the host of various events, Andrey Schegel is a guide in the Museum of Modern Science and Technology, Yegor Romanenko is a screenwriter, Uncle Zhenya is a teacher of advertising technologies, Nikita Shevchuk is a radio host, Yegor Shatailo is a copywriter, Andrey “Materyi” is a theater actor and movie. Everyone has different destinies, different themes for jokes, but they all share one thing, they all perform in the Underground Stand-Up. Someone is already successful in this craft, someone is just starting and trying himself. By the way, Open Microphone evenings are held for beginners. Here, beginner comedians can try their hand, 4 minutes are given for the performance, in which the speaker must invest and even make the audience laugh.

Underground stand-up performances are not at all like television humorous shows, they are a completely different format. There is no place for glitter, pathos, glamor, at the price you only hear everyday stories told with sarcasm, irony, daring humor. This is a territory where there are no taboo topics, all the jokes are relevant, topical and only the most interesting. The guys do not have their own permanent stage for performances, so they need to catch them in the anti-cafe Collage on Poznyaky, the HEAVEN nightclub, the RESPAWN bar, in the Bel'etage, the Heaven club, the Reconquista club and many other interesting places.
